Domestic violence charges can have a devastating effect on almost anyone's life, but when that life is documented by the media, a person will have an incredibly difficult time getting past such charges - even if they are potentially false. Because Bryan and Jenny Masche are from Arizona and had their reality TV show "Raising Sextuplets" taped here in its beginning, Arizona readers are likely familiar with the Masche family, which is now in the midst of an alleged domestic violence dispute gone public.
According to sources, the Masche family is only one of two families in Arizona who have had a set of sextuplets. The rarity of the family's situation got them a show on WE, and their life as a family with multiples has been documented over the course of the last few years since the birth of the children. Until recently, their story has been one of mainly everyday parenting and marriage issues, good and bad, issues that are often intensified in their case likely due to the stress of raising six kids.
The public was surprised to hear the news during the past couple of days that perhaps the stress had gotten to Bryan Masche and resulted in domestic violence. According to sources, Masche was arrested on Sept. 11 following an argument with his father-in-law and possibly Jenny Masche (Bryan's wife), though various details about the incident are yet to be confirmed.
Now residents of Florida, the Mashes were visiting family in Arizona when the alleged dispute developed between Masche and his family in which they were arguing over where the children would spend the day. Reports say that there was a disagreement and Masche became angry; his anger allegedly escalated and turned into physical threats toward his father-in-law.
Arizona police ultimately responded to the scene and were met with Masche's frustration. He insisted that he had done nothing wrong that warranted police intervention and reportedly resisted being handcuffed. When police threatened to use a Taser, Masche conceded and followed their orders.
It is important to remember that Masche is not accused of actual physical violence. He was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and threatening domestic violence. Masche quickly got out on bail and pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Based on what he is cited as insisting during his arrest, "I didn't do anything," it sounds like Masche will passionately defend his name and reputation as a family man in court, and there is plenty of recorded evidence documenting his success as both a loving father and loving husband.
His first court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 7.
