When someone files a restraining order against someone, a person's life is affected in various ways. It's more than not being able to come within 100 yards of someone. More liberties are taken away, such as the invaluable right of seeing one's children and the right to bear arms.

As we shared in a post last week, Sheen's ex, Brooke Mueller, filed a temporary restraining order against the star. She told authorities that she feared for and her sons' safety after Sheen allegedly threatened her. The legal action instigated a media blitz following the actor's currently chaotic life over the past week.

First, we saw the truth behind one painful reality of a restraining order. Once the order was approved, authorities went to Sheen's home and took the couple's two sons out of the star's custody. Sheen claims that he didn't threaten his estranged wife and that no matter what she says, his home is still the best place for the boys.

In the most recent addition to the Sheen shenanigans, sources report that police visited his home last night. They went there after discovering that Sheen was a registered gun owner and needed to search his home for any firearms that might be there. All that authorities reportedly found was an antique gun, which they took from Sheen's property.

As you can tell from this celebrity case, being served with a restraining order puts one's rights at great risk. Fortunately for Sheen, it sounds like with the help of his attorney, he and his ex have come to an agreement regarding the restraining order and their children.
