In March of this year, we posted a story about a wedding reception that went bad. There is an update in the Arizona assault case.

When most couples imagine their ideal wedding day it usually involves a romantic setting, jovial guests, decadent cake and jetting setting off to their honeymoon. For one Arizona couple, the day might have started out that way, but its ending was far from the perfect fairytale wedding story.

The couple invited guests to their home to celebrate their newly formed union. At some point during the festivities, numerous male guests reportedly started dancing in a provocative manner with the new bride. This event acted as a catalyst for a widespread brawl among the guests.

The commotion became so severe that police officers were called to the scene to control the crowd. When they arrived, they allegedly found the bride screaming profanities and charging at another guest. The officers took steps to restrain the woman, but she resisted. Instead of calming down and explaining the situation to the officers, sources report that the bride continued to scream profanities and kick one of the officers in the groin.

Rather than escaping to a romantic honeymoon after the reception, the new bride was escorted out of her reception in handcuffs. She was later charged with attempted aggravated assault. Last week the bride was sentenced to serve six months of probation and complete four hours of community service. The sentence was imposed as part of a plea deal to help the woman avoid serving time in prison or receiving a harsher sentence. While the wedding day may not have been perfect, it certainly was memorable.
