People like to get together and have fun, fun that is often fueled by alcohol. There is generally no shame in drinking, but too many people in Arizona have seen how a night of fun can quickly turn into a tedious DUI arrest. Now, an alcoholic product is launching into the Arizona market that some fear will lead to more reason for police to watch out for drunk drivers.
The product is called SnoBar. It combines alcohol with ice cream in one frozen popsicle treat. Its creator says that there are various flavors of the treat, including margarita and cosmopolitan. But people should know that a SnoBar isn't just a treat. It's reportedly as potent as one cocktail.
When new products come out that contain alcohol, consumers can easily underestimate their levels of intoxication when using the product. They also need to know that when they are eating a SnoBar, they are ingesting alcohol. Critics of the new product question whether everyone will understand what they are eating and know that they should not get behind the wheel before or after having what seems like a mere frozen treat.
This worry comes up especially regarding kids. If their parents have a box of SnoBars in the refrigerator, it could be very easy for a child to think it's a regular popsicle and, therefore, become intoxicated. And some teens might very well know that the frozen treats are alcoholic and be even more inclined to consume them for that reason.
The reason why this product is hitting Arizona shelves first is because of the nice year-round weather here. While it's certain that there's a new delicious treat on the market, it is for the future to tell whether the SnoBars will lead to any DUI arrests. One truth remains whether a person's alleged intoxication is related to drinking standard cocktails, beers or eating alcoholic ice cream treats. A drunk driving arrest is serious and deserves the immediate attention of an aggressive defense attorney.
