The name Hefner has iconic status throughout the U.S. and beyond. Creator of Playboy, Hugh Hefner, not only has his success in business to leave behind, but he also has children. One of his sons is involved in a legal dilemma that no family or business would want its name wrapped up in.

The Associated Press reports that Hugh's 21-year-old son Marston was arrested on Sunday night related to a reported domestic violence incident between him and his 20-year-old girlfriend. Marston has remained quiet about the arrest, while the supposed victim, 2011's Playmate of the Year, has made comments related to the drama on Twitter.

Marston was released from jail on $20,000 bail. While no longer incarcerated, Marston and his Hefner family have a battle ahead to protect the young man from the serious consequences of a mere domestic violence allegation. His girlfriend has filed to get a temporary restraining order against the young suspect, which, if granted, would immediately limit Marston's freedoms.

Generally, when police get a call about domestic violence, they will move forward and make an arrest. Arizona and our country as a whole take swift action in response to abuse charges. While this often does help victims, it can also hastily tarnish a suspect's reputation, even if he is later found not guilty of a crime or the alleged victim recants her story.

We will post an update when there are new developments in this high-profile case.
